Summer 2026 Edition - Virtual
Kritik ImpactEd Week Summer 2026 brought together educators for three community-driven sessions focused on teaching and assessment in the age of AI. Across the series, educators and Kritik experts shared practical approaches to validating student learning, supporting responsible AI use, and strengthening critical thinking through peer assessment and authentic assessment design.
Participants also heard firsthand experiences from Kritik users and explored new product developments designed to make the student learning process more visible.

This session explored how educators can assess student learning with greater confidence as AI becomes part of the learning process. The discussion looked at ways to evaluate how students develop and apply their ideas, not just the final submission, and how authorship transparency and peer assessment can support more meaningful and trustworthy assessment.
2. Navigating the AI Era of Computer Science Education

Hosted by Kritik product and technology experts Mark Deepwell and Vlad Terletsky, this session explored how AI is changing computer science education and the way students learn to code.
Participants examined approaches for designing authentic coding assignments, encouraging responsible AI use, and gaining greater visibility into students’ problem-solving process. The session also featured Kritik’s new Coding Assignments, showing how students can write code, use AI for guidance, and demonstrate their learning process within one environment.
3. Developing Future-Ready Thinkers in the Age of Instant Answers

Joined by long-time Kritik user Alexis Thompson from the University at Buffalo, this session explored how educators can help students build skills that go beyond simply finding the right answer.
Through peer feedback, structured evaluation, and reflective learning, participants explored ways to strengthen critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and judgment while encouraging students to engage more deeply with their own work and the ideas of others.
